Job Description

Role OverviewThe Deputy Vice Chancellor Nurseries / Early Years is a senior executive leadership role responsible for the strategic direction operational oversight and quality assurance of early years and nursery education. The role ensures excellence across education delivery safeguarding regulatory compliance and organisational performance while supporting long-term growth and innovation within the early years portfolio.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic leadership and oversight for all nursery and early years operationsTranslate organisational vision into effective early years strategies policies and delivery plansEnsure the highest standards of early childhood education care and wellbeingOversee compliance with all relevant regulatory safeguarding and quality assurance frameworksLead and support senior leadership teams across nursery settingsMonitor performance quality indicators and operational outcomes across the early years portfolioDrive continuous improvement innovation and best practice in early childhood educationBuild strong relationships with regulators partners and external stakeholdersRepresent the organisation in senior-level meetings forums and partnershipsSupport workforce development leadership capability and talent succession planningQualifications & ExperiencePostgraduate qualification in Education Early Childhood Studies Educational Leadership or a related fieldSignificant senior leadership experience within early years nursery education or education systemsProven experience overseeing multiple sites or complex education operationsStrong understanding of early years frameworks safeguarding and regulatory complianceDemonstrated experience in strategic planning governance and performance managementTrack record of leading large teams and senior leaders in education environmentsExperience working with regulators inspection bodies or accreditation frameworksExcellent communication leadership and stakeholder management skillsSkills & CompetenciesStrategic and systems-level thinkingExecutive leadership and decision-making capabilityStrong governance and risk management awarenessAbility to lead change and continuous improvementHigh level of professionalism integrity and judgementStrong interpersonal and influencing skillsCommitment to child-centred inclusive and high-quality early years provisionPreferred ExperienceExperience leading early years provision at regional group or network levelExposure to international or multicultural education environmentsExperience contributing to organisational growth or expansion initiativesFamiliarity with inspection accreditation or quality rating frameworks#J-18808-Ljbffr
