Design Engineer – Electrical

Our client, one of the leading MEP specialist construction company is seeking to recruit a Design Engineer for their Electrical Engineering Department.The successful candidate will mainly:Assist Senior Engineer(s) evaluation of the engineering content of projects for which designs by othersAssist Senior Engineer(s)/Tendering Dept. as required in development of concept design for the Design and Build/EPC contracts and ensure to use recognized methods of calculation to a level by which materials and equipment can procured and shop drawings can be produce.Assist Project management team in all technical aspects of the works, including assistance with procurement where required.Assist liaison with the Client’s personnel in securing approvals of drawings, materials and equipment.Assist in liaison with CAD operators in the timely production of shop drawings to acceptable level.Responsibilities:Gather all necessary requirements and information in order to prepare creative, thorough and professional design proposals and test dataCarry out calculations by recognized corporate procedures and with the use of corporate-approved design software to evaluate the performance criteria of systems and equipment.Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications and accuracy of calculations and dimensions.Coordinate and follow up to ensure timely execution of the tendering process and/or project execution.Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical EngineeringSkillsMinimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience including supervision.Knowledge and related experience of a wide spectrum of engineering services for building and infrastructure in particular with electrical engineering.Ability to assist in technical aspects of tendersAbout The CompanyGI International is a premier recruitment consultancy based in Dubai, with an impressive record of placing high caliber professionals across a wide range of organisations regionally.
