Job Description

Electrical Site Engineer - HV / EHV Substation Projects (Execution-Focused Role)We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Site Engineer with proven, hands-on experience exclusively in substation construction, installation, and erection for High Voltage (HV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) projects.This role is strictly for execution professionals who have been deeply involved in on-site delivery, not design-only or office-based engineering roles.Supervise and execute complete substation erection works including civil-electrical interface.Manage installation of:Power Transformers (including oil filling, assembly, accessories installation)GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) / AIS (Air Insulated Switchgear)Circuit Breakers, Isolators/Disconnectors, Earthing SwitchesCurrent Transformers (CT), Voltage Transformers (VT/PT), Surge ArrestersBusbars (rigid & flexible), clamps, connectors, and jumpersCable trays, trenching, laying, glanding, and termination (LV/MV/HV cables)Control, protection, SCADA, and marshalling panelsEnsure proper alignment, leveling, torque tightening, and installation as per OEM manuals. Drawings & Technical ComplianceReview and implement:Layouts, sections, and equipment GA drawingsEnsure all work is executed as per:Project specificationsApproved method statementsInternational standards (IEC, IEEE)Identify discrepancies and coordinate for technical clarifications (TQs/RFIs).Support and coordinate:Cable continuity, IR, and HV testingFunctional checks for control & protection systemsTransformer pre-commissioning activitiesGIS/AIS testing and energization readinessInterface with commissioning teams and OEM specialists.Track daily progress vs. baseline schedule.Prepare:Daily / Weekly progress reportsLook-ahead plans (2-week / 3-week)Resource and material requirement forecastsHighlight risks, delays, and mitigation plans.Coordinate with:Civil, mechanical, and commissioning teamsContractors, subcontractors, and vendorsEnsure proper site logistics, material availability, and access planning.Attend site meetings with client/consultant.Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience, with at least:5+ years purely in HV/EHV substation construction/installationDemonstrated hands-on experience in:Substation erection (132kV / 220kV / 380kV or equivalent)Working on live or near-live substationsStrong knowledge of:Protection & control basicsEarthing and lightning protection systemsExperience with GIS substations (highly preferred).Previous work with EPC contractors, utilities, or large infrastructure projects.Familiarity with Saudi utility standards (e.g., SEC) is a strong advantage.Certifications:Strong problem-solving mindset on-siteAbility to work under pressure and tight deadlinesHigh attention to quality, safety, and detailExcellent coordination and communication skillsHands-on, proactive, and ownership-driven attitudeLocation: Project Site (On-site role - no remote work)Employment Type: Full-timeIf you meet the above criteria and have true site-based substation experience, apply via LinkedIn Only candidates with relevant HV/EHV substation installation experience will be considered.Feel free to tag or share with suitable candidates
