OverviewAn Electrician is a skilled professional who specializes in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in buildings and structures. They are responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment to provide electricity for various purposes. They execute wiring plans and ensure safety compliance. Electricians have expertise in various electrical systems, tools, and safety regulations.ResponsibilitiesExecutes electrical wiring plans, installs fixtures and equipment, troubleshoots malfunctions, and repairs electrical appliances.Work with different electrical systems, tools, and safety regulations to ensure the efficient and safe distribution of electricity.Conducts inspections, replaces old wiring, replaces electrical fixtures such as lights, switches, sockets, circuit breakers, etc., and performs maintenance tasks including earth pit testing and thermal imaging of electrical components to prevent system breakdowns and maximize electrical usability.Uses a variety of industry-specific tools to perform tasks, including ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners, and cable testers.Understand and apply blueprints and technical diagrams.Has strong knowledge in Generator/ATS, ACB, etc., and is aware of generator operation and testing; during power failures, operates the system and can start the generator and switch over to the generator’s electrical supply when the DEWA supply fails.Has strong knowledge on MDB deenergizing and capacitor bank operations and functionality.Inspects electrical components including transformers and circuit breakers.Uses testing devices to identify and report electrical problems.Performs record keeping and filing; capable of recording Heat Loss Parameter (HLP) meter readings; interprets readings from meters, gauges, and other measuring units.Installs, repairs, and services specialized electrical equipment and machinery.Has knowledge of fire alarm systems and firefighting systems, including panel maintenance and reset procedures.Uses hand and power tools; follows Lockout/Tag Out procedures; adheres to local authority regulations; completes work orders on time; creates records of materials used.RequirementsProven experience as an electrician.Understand and apply blueprints and technical diagrams.Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems.Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter) and electrical drawings and blueprints.Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.Required SkillsSafety RegulationsElectricityScannersFlexibilityDiagramsWork OrdersUsabilityOperationsComplianceBuildingsStructuresMachinerySwitchesSupply ComponentsFilingInterpersonal SkillsRegulationsCritical ThinkingRecordsMaterialsTroubleshootingTestingMaintenanceCommunication#J-18808-Ljbffr
