FIELD SUPPORT ENGINEER

A field-based Field Support Engineer role within our team, responsible for the daily supervision, maintenance, and on-site support of a deployed radio communication system at customer (military) locations across the UAE. The role requires close coordination with back-office teams and direct customer interaction, working under daily supervision of a Support Manager.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform day-to-day monitoring of infrastructure components, COTS hardware, radio equipment, and associated application software across sitesCarry out initial diagnosis and troubleshooting of hardware and software issuesIdentify complex issues and escalate back-office teams with clear technical information and logsCoordinate with customer and remote support teams to ensure smooth operationsReplace faulty hardware devices and components following established proceduresDeploy software updates and patches in a Linux-based environmentExecute automation playbooks using AnsibleProduce incident reports and maintain accurate records of system configurations and changesContribute to updating procedures and technical manualsProvide direct technical support to the customerMaintain accurate inventory of deployed equipment, tools, and consumablesSupport movement of equipment to/from sites, ensuring proper transport, storage, and labellingTrack equipment lifecycle (installation, maintenance, return, replacement) using asset management toolsKey Qualifications3+ years in field support or technical support roles in an operational or customer-facing environmentHands-on experience with electronic equipment, IT systems, and radio communication systemsExperience in defense projects or critical infrastructure (preferred)Experience integrating and testing complex systems (a plus)Valid UAE driver's license (travel across 20 sites required)Must be able to obtain UAE security clearance for military site accessExperience with Linux-based systemsKnowledge of radio communication principlesFamiliarity with Ansible or similar automation toolsBasic understanding of networking, RF equipment, and hardware/software integrationExcellent communication, coordination, and analytical skillsStrong reporting capabilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamHighly responsive and proactiveFrench and/or Arabic speaker (Advantage)VERTICALENGINEERING#J-18808-Ljbffr
