We work with fast-growing startups and scaleups, partnering closely with founders, executives, and investors to support international growth.About RoleThe General Counsel acts as a strategic execution partner to the CEO and leadership team, owning the full legal function at RemotePass. This role ensures alignment between business priorities and legal strategy, while enabling the company to scale globally in a compliant, commercially sound, and risk-aware manner.The General Counsel is responsible for all legal matters across the business, including commercial agreements, IP, product and technology, data protection, litigation, country expansion and set up, employment and labour, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. This role blends hands-on legal execution with strategic leadership and is ideal for a senior legal leader who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and enjoys building scalable legal foundations.You will work closely with leaders across product, engineering, sales, operations, people, and finance, and serve as the primary point of contact for external counsel, regulators, and the board on legal matters.Responsibilities:Own and define the legal strategy for RemotePass in line with business objectives and growth plansAct as the primary legal advisor to the CEO, executive team, and boardTranslate complex legal issues into practical, business-oriented guidanceDraft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including MSAs, customer contracts, vendor agreements, partnership agreements, and NDAsBuild and continuously improve contract templates, playbooks, and approval processes that support sales velocity while managing riskPartner closely with sales, partnerships, and procurement teams on deal structuring and negotiationsProvide legal guidance on product development, launches, and roadmap decisionsOwn fintech, IP, and employment legal strategy across global geographies, including MENAAdvise engineering and product teams on legal implications related to platform architecture, integrations, and automationOversee legal compliance related to global employment, labor laws, worker classification, and EOR operationsAdvise on employment structures, terminations, and local labor risks across jurisdictionsPartner with local counsel to stay ahead of regulatory changes impacting RemotePass and its customersProvide guidance on immigration, payroll, benefits, and taxation from a legal risk perspectiveOwn data protection and privacy strategy across the company, including compliance with GDPR and other applicable international data protection regulationsIdentify, assess, and address legal, regulatory, and commercial risks across the businessSupport corporate governance, board processes, and investor requirementsManage disputes and regulatory inquiries, working with external counsel as neededRequirementsGC or equivalent legal qualification with 10+ years of experience in senior legal rolesExperience across commercial contracts, IP, product, corporate, and regulatory mattersBackground in fintech, SaaS, or high-growth technology companies strongly preferredExperience engaging with regulators or governmental bodies across regionsSkills and AttributesCommercially minded with strong judgment and risk prioritisation skillsExcellent drafting, negotiation, and communication abilitiesComfortable operating in ambiguity and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong cross-functional and cross-cultural communication skillsBuilder mindset with an entrepreneurial approach to legal problem solvingA senior leadership role with direct impact on company strategy and growthClose partnership with the CEO and executive teamOpportunity to build and scale the legal function from the ground upExposure to complex global legal challenges in a fast-growing company#J-18808-Ljbffr
