Job Description

Job PurposeManage, control and monitor the work of a group of Paralegals/Legal Executives/ Clerks in providing legal expertise to enable the organization to operate effectively.ResponsibilitiesLegalTake responsibility for providing specific elements of the organization's legal service with guidance from senior colleagues.Data ManagementManage basic aspects of the data management system with guidance from senior colleagues. This includes being responsible for developing or operating basic elements of the data management systems to deliver prescribed outcomes.Internal Client Relationship ManagementContribute to the management of partnering relationships with internal clients, building effective working relationships and providing high-quality professional services to support in delivering business strategy and plans.Data Collection and AnalysisCollate and analyze data using pre-set tools, methods and formats. Involves working independently.Document PreparationOrganize and prepare complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices such as standard office software. Also responsible for gathering and summarizing data for special reports.Performance ManagementRespond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance. OR Monitor the performance of the team; allocate work and review completion, take appropriate corrective action to ensure timeliness and quality; contribute to formal individual performance management and appraisal.Leadership and DirectionExplain the local action plan to support team members in their understanding of what needs to be done, and how this relates to the broader business plan and the organization's strategy, mission and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals.Strategic & GovernanceMaintain a legal risk register and mitigation plansLead development and updates of legal policies and proceduresEstablish a legal charter and decision matrixPerformance & ReportingConsolidate legal KPIs and dashboards (e.g. case closure rate, review time)Submit high-level legal reports to EXCOM or CEOContracting StandardsApprove contract templates and standard clausesCreate fallback clause library and contract playbooksEnsure contracts are compliant.Regulatory & Legal AdvisoryLead regulatory updates and impact assessmentHandle complex legal topics (e.g. mergers, competition law, tax disputes)Advise on high-risk legal matters across functionsIP & Trademark OversightOversee the full trademark lifecycle: registration, renewal, dispute handlingSupervise coordination with external IP agencies (e.g. Bainat)Ensure trademark documentation and archiving are compliant and up to date, including rising cases against other brands using our identies#J-18808-Ljbffr
