Candidate shall also perform a variety of workshop support tasks.Job ResponsibilitiesPerforms a wide variety of mechanical repairs, PMs and fabrication, including pipefitting, rigging, assembly, and disassembly of all types of plant operation equipment, conveyors, piping, pump valves etc.Assist details of jobs assigned, develops, and use sketches, blueprints and complex drawingsConsults with operations and technical groups on safety procedures and job hazardsDismantle, overhaul, reassembles, and adjusts, conveyors, turbine, generators, boilers, pumps, valves, and all other auxiliary equipmentInspect and lubricates all plant equipment routinely and makes necessary adjustments to ensure that equipment is operating efficientlyPerforms heavy lifting and riggingUses torch and welding equipment to perform repair weldingMechanical repairs, piping, and valve packingPerforms integrity tests on piping and plant equipmentWorks both inside and outside area of the plantWorks at height (e.g., scaffolding and ladders)Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly mannerWorks with and assists team members with a variety of workshop support tasksMilling activitiesLathing activitiesDrilling activitiesWelding activitiesThe above job duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature of the work and are not intended to be an inclusive list of all responsibilities. Duties and responsibilities may change or vary depending on the specific needs of the business.Educational / Professional Qualifications / Training CertificationsDiploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent certificationsHSE accredited training qualificationsWelding CertificationMilling, Lathing and Workshop Equipment Certification1.4 Job ExperienceMust have at least 4 years as a Mechanical TechnicianHas abilities in studying blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances, and has knowledge of machine shop procedures, math, machinability of materials, and layout techniques.Advanced Skills in Coupling Alignments, Close Tolerance Fitting, Valves, and High-Pressure Steam Systems has demonstrated skills using precision measuring instruments and performs troubleshooting and maintaining valves and high-pressure steam systems.Safety understands and uses lock-out procedures; is forklift trained and certified.Familiar with HSE standards, procedures, and requirements and control plant operations in a safe and efficient mannerMust have at least basic knowledge and experience with different materials and welding electrodesMust have at least basic knowledge and experience of electric welding and argon welding both on piping and structuresMust have at least basic knowledge and experience with TiG, MMA (6G Coded pressure parts preferable)Must have basic knowledge workshop activities (Milling, Lathing, Drilling etc.)1.5 Job ExperienceSafety Focus: Complies with all the health and safety regulations, safely performs work, and organizes its workspace to minimize the likelihood of an accident or other unsafe situation.Technical Expertise: Practical knowledge of processes and practices in own functional areaAccountability: Demonstrate a sense of responsibility and ownership of own actions, assigned objectives, activities and processesAdaptability: Demonstrate reliability, high ability to work under pressure, social competency, ability to manage conflict, assertiveness, and service oriented.
