InterContinental Residences Dubai Business Bay is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Kitchen & Laundry Technician to support the Engineering team in maintaining the highest standards of operational efficiency, safety, and luxury service delivery. This role is critical in ensuring the reliable operation, preventive maintenance, and timely repair of all kitchen and laundry equipment, supporting seamless culinary and housekeeping operations while meeting IHG brand standards, Forbes luxury expectations, and local authority compliance. Located in the heart of Dubai’s Business Bay, the property features 176 luxury serviced residences. The Kitchen & Laundry Technician plays a key role in protecting asset integrity, minimizing downtime, and ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for guests and colleagues.Your Day-to-DayEvery day is different, but you’ll mostly be:Kitchen Equipment MaintenanceCarry out preventive and corrective maintenance of kitchen equipment including ovens, ranges, grills, fryers, steamers, dishwashers, and refrigeration support systemsDiagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and gas‑related faults in kitchen equipmentEnsure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with manufacturer specificationsRespond promptly to breakdowns to minimize operational disruptionLaundry Equipment MaintenanceMaintain, service, and repair commercial laundry equipment including washers, dryers, extractors, presses, and ironing machinesMonitor machine performance and conduct adjustments to optimize efficiency and lifespanEnsure proper calibration and safe operation of laundry machineryPreventive Maintenance & Asset CareExecute planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules in line with IHG engineering standardsMaintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and equipment historiesRecommend repairs, replacements, and upgrades to improve reliability and efficiencySafety, Compliance & HygieneEnsure strict adherence to health, safety, fire, and hygiene regulationsComply with local authority requirements, including Dubai Municipality and Civil Defense standardsFollow lockout/tagout procedures and safe working practices at all timesSupport HACCP compliance in kitchen operationsGuest & Operational SupportWork closely with Culinary, Stewarding, and Housekeeping teams to support smooth daily operationsCarry out repairs with minimal disruption, maintaining professionalism and cleanliness in guest and operational areasCommunicate equipment status, downtime, and repair timelines clearly to department headsTeamwork & Continuous ImprovementSupport other Engineering trades as required during peak periods or emergenciesAssist with inspections, audits, and technical evaluationsParticipate in training, toolbox talks, and skills development programsWhat We Need from YouQualifications & ExperienceProven experience as a Kitchen & Laundry Technician or Hotel Engineering Technician, preferably in a luxury hotel or serviced residenceStrong technical knowledge of commercial kitchen and laundry equipmentWorking knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and gas systemsExperience with preventive maintenance programs and fault diagnosisTechnical SkillsAbility to read technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagramsSkilled in troubleshooting and hands‑on repairsBasic understanding of BMS, safety interlocks, and control panels is an advantageEducation & CertificationTechnical diploma or ITI certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or Hotel Engineering (preferred)Trade certification in kitchen or laundry equipment maintenance is an advantagePersonal AttributesStrong problem‑solving and analytical skillsReliable, organized, and detail‑orientedAbility to work under pressure and respond to emergenciesGood communication and teamwork skillsFlexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidaysWhat You Can Expect from UsWe give our people everything they need to succeed — from a competitive salary that rewards all your hard work to a wide range of benefits designed to help you live your best work life.
