Occupational Therapist-Occupational TherapyAbu Dhabi, United Arab EmiratesJob DescriptionResponsible for providing safe, effective, evidence based and comprehensive Occupational Therapy services in the designated area.ResponsibilitiesEnsures and undertakes full comprehensive and accurate assessment of patients' physical, psychological and social needs, including those with diverse or complex presentations/multi pathologies; using investigative and analytical skills, and formulate individualized management and treatment plans, using advanced clinical reasoning and utilizing a wide range of treatment knowledge, skills and options to formulate a specialized program of care.Evaluates patient progress and alters treatment programs as and when appropriate.Maintains and is responsible for own caseload under the clinical supervision of a senior Occupational Therapist and dealing with referrals in line with the departmental policy.Implements and uses a range of verbal and non-verbal communication tools to communicate effectively with patients and their families/caregivers about the diagnosis and treatment plan to help progress rehabilitation. This includes patients who may have difficulties with understanding or communication.Develops comprehensive discharge plans and works with relevant professionals to arrange ongoing care.Communicates effectively with patients, relatives and other care providers on a group or individual basis in order to maximize rehabilitative potential. This may require explanation, instruction, persuasion, motivation, negotiation and reassurance or the use of behavioral modification techniques.Formulates and completes all necessary records, reports and statistics in line with agreed occupational therapy service policy and professional guidelines.
