You will lead technical development and supplier coordination, ensuring that our packaging meets the highest standards of quality, functionality, and innovation. Additionally, you will focus on process optimization to drive efficiency and cost effectiveness across our operations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPackaging Development & IndustrializationLead the end-to-end development of innovative, high-quality, and sustainable packaging solutions aligned with the brand's aesthetic and functional requirements.Ensure the feasibility of designs by conducting technical risk assessments, tolerance stack-up analysis, and industrial validation.Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to optimize manufacturing processes, ensuring smooth industrialization.Work closely with the Product Development teams to ensure compatibility between bulk products and packaging.Evaluate, create and provide technical specifications, drawings, and CAD models to suppliers and oversee sample validation.Supplier & Contract Manufacturer CoordinationWork directly with CMs and packaging suppliers to ensure smooth development, from concept to production.Analyze and optimize mold and tooling design to improve production efficiency and reduce defects.Partner with suppliers to identify and resolve technical issues that may arise during development or production.Innovation & SustainabilityStay ahead of market trends and emerging technologies in packaging development to propose innovative solutions.Lead initiatives for sustainable packaging, evaluating eco-friendly materials and recyclability strategies.Support R&D efforts to integrate new materials and manufacturing processes that enhance product performance.Quality & ComplianceCollaborate with Quality teams to define and implement robust testing protocols for new packaging components.Ensure packaging meets all relevant industry regulations, compliance standards, and safety guidelines.Participate in line trials and first production runs at contract manufacturers to validate packaging performance.Cost Optimization & Process ImprovementConduct value analysis and propose cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality and design integrity.Support the purchasing team in evaluating supplier capabilities and cost efficiency.Identify process improvements to enhance packaging development speed and reliability.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.5+ years in packaging development within the cosmetics or beauty industry, with a strong technical foundation in packaging materials, manufacturing processes, injection molding, and decoration techniques.
