Postdoctoral Fellow

Postdoctoral fellow position available at the Khalifa Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (KCGEB), United Arab Emirates University to study the interaction of gene‑specific transcription factors with mediator subunits and long non‑coding RNAs (lncRNAs) with nuclear proteins, one of the critical mechanisms for mediator and lncRNAs to perform multiple essential functions. The successful candidate will use a multidisciplinary approach, combining cell biology (confocal microscopy), computational biology, plant genetics (generating mutants and/or transgenic lines) and proteomics techniques (protein interaction) in exploring the role of MED subunits and lncRNAs in plant architectures and stress resilience. Furthermore, the candidate will play a critical role in supporting research in plant‑microbe interactions using multidisciplinary techniques.Minimum QualificationsPhD with two‑year experiencePreferred QualificationsPhD with two‑year experience or moreExpected SkillsHighly motivated and experienced PhD with strong expertise in molecular biology (plant overexpression, RNAi/CRISPR‑Cas9 vector construction) and experience in protein‑protein interaction.Strong troubleshooting skills and a publication record in peer‑reviewed journals.Knowledge in computational biology will be an additional asset.Close Date: 30/04/2026.
