Purchasing Manager

We are seeking to hire a competent "Purchasing Manager" to handle our client's procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals and find more profitable suppliers. Our Client is a leading Mining group based in Saudi Arabia.The successful candidate will be able to develop purchasing strategies, maintain positive relationships with suppliers, coordinate with internal teams regarding their supply needs, and oversee the purchasing team in their daily activities.An outstanding purchasing manager should have excellent leadership abilities and be able to negotiate the best possible deals with suppliers.Purchasing Manager duties and responsibilitiesDevelop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and proceduresTrack and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectivenessCraft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal termsManage daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks and maintain the supplier databaseEnsure that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specificationsAssess, manage and mitigate risksEvaluate vendors to ensure its performance is aligned with established specificationsAdminister bidding process and contracts (e.g. prepare specifications, evaluate bids, recommend vendors, and manage budgets etc.)Research and evaluate vendors/contracts to ensure it is in compliance with government regulations (e.g. vendor debarment and suspension regulation)Review and maintain good record of purchasing files and records (purchase orders, contracts, etc.) to ensure its compliance with company policies and procedures and ensure the availability of documentationContinually improve purchasing methods/processes and identify opportunities for cost savingsResponse to inquiries from internal and external sources in providing information, direction, and or appropriate referrals.Determine quantity and timing of deliveriesMonitor and forecast upcoming levels of demandPurchasing Manager skills and requirements:BS degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration or a related fieldProven working experience as Purchasing Manager, Agent or Officer or in a similar positionDeep knowledge of inventory, supervisory and supply chain managementProficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing softwareUsed to work on ERPInterest in market dynamics along with business senseExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a knack for negotiation and networkingExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsStrong critical thinking, decision making and problem solving skillsStrong planning and excellent organizational skillsStrong leadership and ability to work independently, and to effectively train othersExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesFamiliarity with sourcing and vendor managementAbility to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriateThorough understanding of business, management principles, materials and supplies used in the company#J-18808-Ljbffr
