Senior Internal Auditor (Engineering)

Position: Senior Internal Auditor (Engineering)Department: Internal AuditReporting to: Internal Audit ManagerWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Internal Auditor (Engineering) to join our Internal Audit team. This role plays a key part in executing the annual risk-based audit plan, focusing on engineering operations, project governance, construction activities, and technical compliance.The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, a proactive risk mindset, and the ability to assess engineering processes, project execution, and operational controls to enhance organizational performance.Key ResponsibilitiesParticipate in developing the risk-based Internal Audit plan through engineering and project risk assessments.Execute high-quality, timely audit fieldwork across engineering, construction, and project operations.Support engagement planning, documentation, and reporting processes.Identify, elevate, and communicate significant findings and risk exposures in a timely manner.Quality & ComplianceEngage with the Quality Assurance & Improvement Program (QAIP) to ensure audit excellence.Ensure compliance with Internal Audit policies, procedures, and professional standards.Supervise and coach Internal Auditors, trainees, and guest auditors during engagements.Build strong working relationships across Engineering, Operations, Finance, Strategy, and other departments.Promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the Internal Audit function.Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum 3+ years of experience in engineering-related internal audit, project audits, technical operations audits, or engineering/quality compliance.Experience within the construction industry is highly preferred.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related discipline).CIA, CQA, PMP, CEng, PE, or equivalent audit/engineering-related certification (completed or in progress).Strong knowledge of engineering risk assessment, project governance, cost control, quality management systems, and regulatory compliance.Ability to evaluate engineering designs, project execution, contractor performance, procurement processes, and construction quality controls.Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.Proficiency in MS Excel, audit tools, and engineering/project management systems.#J-18808-Ljbffr
