With over 16,500 professionals across 40+ countries, our Middle East practice continues to expand rapidly, delivering major programmes across buildings, infrastructure, cities, and complex mixed‑use developments.The RoleWe are seeking a highly capable Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design and delivery of mechanical building services across a range of projects in the Middle East. The role will involve technical design leadership, close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and direct engagement with clients to deliver high‑quality, coordinated mechanical solutions in line with SJ standards and regional requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver high quality mechanical engineering design across all project stages, from concept through detailed design and construction support.Prepare and review mechanical calculations, reports, specifications, and drawings in accordance with client briefs, international standards, and local authority requirements.Undertake dynamic thermal and energy performance modelling using tools such as IES‑VE or equivalent, supporting sustainable and efficient design solutions.Work collaboratively within a BIM‑led design environment, leveraging automation and digital tools to enhance coordination, efficiency, and design quality.Coordinate closely with Electrical, Public Health, Structural, Architectural, and other disciplines to ensure fully integrated design solutions.Support client and stakeholder engagement, including participation in technical discussions, coordination meetings, and design reviews.Key Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor’s degree (BEng/BSc Hons) in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in mechanical building services design.Mandatory experience delivering projects in the Middle East, with strong familiarity with regional standards and authority requirements.Proven track record of delivering high‑quality mechanical designs on multidisciplinary projects.Key Knowledge and SkillsStrong technical expertise in mechanical building services systems.Proficient knowledge of British Standards, ASHRAE, CIBSE, NFPA, SMACNA, and UAE & KSA local authority regulations.Experience working within BIM environments, with a strong interest in digital innovation and automation.BenefitsJoin a global, multidisciplinary consultancy delivering complex and high‑profile projects across the Middle East.
