Job Description
GQ Middle East is seeking an enthusiastic Social Media Manager to lead on day-to-day social posting and social media strategy for the GQ Middle East team. Reporting into GQ’s Global Audience Development Director, this role is responsible for daily posting across all social media channels, including Instagram and TikTok, and will also work in close collaboration with the video team to create social first video content. This position is also responsible for working with the editorial team on cover launches and features, commercial sponsorship deliverables and partnerships, attending and covering social rollout at events, and collaborating with audience development leads on growth strategy.Along with a passion for storytelling and attention to detail, the candidate must have in-depth social media experience and a proven history of growing social audiences. The role is intended for someone who cares deeply about the important topics we cover, has strong writing skills, and is enthusiastic about joining an agile team. This person has an instinct for what’s on (and off) brand, has an eye for powerful visuals, understands how data can inform a smart editorial and social strategy, and is an expert at juggling multiple projects, managing deadlines, distilling social numbers into actionable insights, and advocating for strong social content for the brand.Primary Responsibilities:Day-to-day scheduling, editing and optimising of content on multiple social media platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram and PinterestMaster GQ Middle East’s editorial tone of voiceWork closely with editorial stakeholders to roll out cover stories and features across social media platformsMake content recommendations to the editorial team informed by social media trendsBuild creative assets for various social platformsCollaborate with video producers on ideation and creation of social first videos and franchisesCoordinate with editors and publicists to ensure talent promotion on socialReport on content performance and present social insights and best practices to GQ’s digital and audience development teamsBrainstorm new ideas and plan rollout strategies in order to achieve audience growth on social platformsAttend events to cover social media postingRequirements:A minimum requirement of 2 years social media management experiencePassionate about existing and emergent social media platforms and growing audiencesA strong understanding of social media trends and how to translate these into content for brandsFamiliarity of social video content and formatsExperience of video strategy a bonusPositive team player and an enthusiastic work ethicFamiliarity with GQ’s editorial content and tone of voiceStrong writing and communication skillsGood understanding of social media analytics and how to use data to inform strategyExperience optimising social media content for engagement and/or trafficStrong editorial judgementExcellent organizational skills, focus, and attention to detailAn established ability to synthesize and communicate information quicklyMust complete an edit test (writing samples are a plus)#J-18808-Ljbffr
