This is not a senior IC role.</p><h3>What You Will Own</h3><ul><li>Drive architectural decisions for high-scale CX SaaS systems</li><li>Conduct and sign off on final design and implementation reviews</li><li>Build and evolve production-grade backend services using Python or Ruby on Rails</li><li>Ensure platform reliability, performance, and security at scale</li><li>Partner closely with Product and AI teams to translate product vision into robust systems</li><li>Mentor senior and mid-level engineers and elevate engineering standards</li><li>Identify and resolve systemic technical risks proactively</li><li>Champion engineering best practices across teams</li><li>Leverage GenAI developer tools to accelerate delivery and code quality</li></ul><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Design and deliver scalable, distributed backend systems</li><li>Review and approve architecture proposals and critical PRs</li><li>Guide teams on microservices and event-driven patterns</li><li>Optimize system performance, cost, and reliability</li><li>Drive improvements in CI/CD, observability, and DevOps maturity</li><li>Support secure, compliant deployments (enterprise-grade expectations)</li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally to unblock complex initiatives</li><li>Raise the technical bar through coaching and technical leadership</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>10+ years backend engineering experience in production SaaS environments</li><li>Proven hands-on expertise in Python or Ruby on Rails at scale</li><li>Demonstrated ownership of large-scale distributed systems</li><li>Strong experience with microservices and event-driven architectures</li><li>Deep familiarity with AWS (or equivalent cloud platforms)</li><li>Solid experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production</li><li>Strong command of PostgreSQL and at least one of Redis / Elasticsearch</li><li>Proven record of technical leadership and mentorship</li><li>Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills</li><li>Practical experience using GenAI coding tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.) to improve engineering velocity</li></ul><h3>Preferred (Strong Plus)</h3><ul><li>Experience building CX, social listening, or real-time engagement platforms</li><li>Background in high-growth startup environments</li><li>Experience improving DevOps maturity and CI/CD pipelines</li><li>Exposure to observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, etc.)</li><li>Public technical writing or open-source contributions</li><li>Experience working in AI-enabled product environments</li></ul><h3>What Success Looks Like</h3><p>In the first 6 months, you will:</p><ul><li>Raise the bar on backend architecture quality</li><li>Reduce technical risk across critical services</li><li>Improve system scalability and reliability</li><li>Elevate team engineering standards through mentorship</li><li>Influence cross-team technical decisions with clarity and authority</li></ul></div>#J-18808-Ljbffr
