Transportation Control Tower Specialist

The Transportation Control Tower Specialist oversees and coordinates the movement of shipments from pickup to delivery. The role ensures real‑time visibility, timely communication, smooth carrier coordination, and fast resolution of any transport‑related issues. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced logistics environment.Job ResponsibilitiesInitiate transportation workflows once shipments are document‑ready.Coordinate routing, booking, dispatching, and carrier assignment.Ensure carriers follow required procedures, instructions, and service standards.Track shipments through Control Tower or TMS platforms.Update shipment milestones accurately and promptly.Monitor border crossings, port movements, and inland transport activities.Respond quickly to delays, exceptions, or operational disruptions.Resolve issues related to customs holds, equipment alarms, special cargo, or documentation.Escalate urgent matters and collaborate with internal teams to prevent delays.Provide timely updates to internal teams and customers.Maintain organized transport documents, including delivery confirmations and dispatch logs.Prepare performance reports on delivery times, delays, and carrier performance.Skills & CompetenciesStrong understanding of multimodal transportation (air, sea, and road).Ability to manage time‑sensitive shipments and handle multiple tasks at once.Proficiency with transport management or Control Tower systems.Excellent communication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in system updates.Key QualificationsDiploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.2–5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or control tower operations.Experience working with carriers, freight forwarders, or logistics service providers is an advantage.Key Performance IndicatorsOn‑time pickup and delivery rates.Accuracy of shipment milestone updates.Speed of exception handling and problem resolution.Overall carrier performance and adherence to procedures.#J-18808-Ljbffr
