OverviewDubai, UAE | Onsite – Fabrication Yard Contract / Long-term assignmentWe are looking for an experienced Welding & Coating Inspector – Topside to act as the Client / Owner’s Representative at a fabrication yard responsible for the construction of an offshore substation topside.This role focuses on supervision of all steelwork, welding, and coating activities, ensuring that fabrication and assembly are executed in full compliance with project specifications, certification requirements, quality standards, and HSE regulations.The position requires strong on-site presence, proactive problem-solving, and close coordination with the Site Manager, Lead Inspector, and wider project team.ResponsibilitiesSupervise all steelwork, welding, and coating activities at the fabrication yardAct as the Client Representative for welding & coating disciplines and main on-site contact for the ContractorEnsure fabrication and assembly comply with:approved specificationsquality standardscertification requirements (e.g. offshore regulations)Work in close cooperation with:Site Manager / Topside CoordinatorLead InspectorQuality Assurance & Certification teamsPre-commissioning teamParticipate in all contractor meetings related to fabrication activitiesMonitor storage, handling, and preservation of free-issued materials (FIM)Supervise and verify construction documentation, including:Welding documentation (WPS, WPQR, welding plans)Material certificates, consumables, coatingsEquipment calibration and maintenance recordsEnvironmental conditions for coating worksWelder, NDT, painter and blaster qualifications (e.g. FROSIO)Dimensional controlProactively identify and resolve issues on siteIdentify and report non-conformities (NCs) and HSE incidentsEnsure corrective actions for NCs are implemented in accordance with proceduresRegister and follow up discipline-related punch list items in the agreed project toolParticipate in:partial technical acceptances (as per ITPs)HAT and final visual inspections prior to sail-outWhat We Are Looking ForRequired QualificationsEngineering degree or equivalent technical backgroundCertified International Welding Inspector / Engineer(IWE / EWE, IWI-C, CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2)Minimum 5 years of experience as Welding & Coating InspectorEN ISO 9712 certification, minimum Level 2 (NDT)Proven experience in steel fabrication, preferably in offshore wind or offshore structuresStrong competence in preparation and review of welding documentationGood analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsFluent English (spoken and written)Nice to HaveExperience as Site Manager or senior site personnel on major construction projectsInternationally recognized coating certification(e.g. FROSIO Level 3, NACE CIP Level 2 or equivalent)Experience in non-conformity management and punch list follow-upArabic language skills (spoken and written)Additional AdvantagesGerman language skillsQualified Electrician certification (e.g. DIN VDE 0105-100 or equivalent)Why This RoleOwner’s-side position with real authority on siteLong-term offshore fabrication project in an international environmentHigh-impact role during fabrication, acceptance, and sail-out phasesOn-site leadership position in a major fabrication yard in DubaiInterested?Apply directly or reach out for more information.#J-18808-Ljbffr
