This role is critical for maintaining high service reliability and driving innovation in next‑generation mobile technologies.Detailed Job DescriptionAs a 5G PS Core Engineer, you will join a dynamic team responsible for managing and enhancing Ericsson’s Packet Core infrastructure across EPC and 5G domains. You will work on cutting‑edge projects involving node integration, automation, and performance optimization in a fast‑paced environment. This position offers exposure to cloud‑native deployments, virtualization, and orchestration technologies, making it an excellent opportunity for professionals passionate about shaping the future of mobile connectivity.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform daily health checks and monitor alarms on Ericsson PS Core nodes (MME, SGSN, GGSN, EPG, PCC/PCG, SAPC, SMF/UPF).Troubleshoot and resolve network faults, capacity issues, and performance degradations.Manage subscriber sessions, PDP contexts, bearer handling, and IMSI tracing.Configure new APNs, IMSI ranges, rating groups, and QoS profiles.Define and manage PCC rules, PDR/QER/FAR/URR policies, and interface with PCRF/SAPC.Manage DNS/NAPTR/SRV configurations for IMS and EPC services.Support integration of new PS Core nodes (vEPG, vMME, vUPF on cloud or Kubernetes).Develop and maintain automation scripts (Bash, Python, Expect, AWK) for log parsing and KPI reporting.Required Qualifications & SkillsProven experience with Ericsson PS Core portfolio: SGSN‑MME, EPG (GGSN/PGW/SGW), PCC/PCG, SAPC, DRA, SMF/UPF.Strong understanding of 2G/3G/4G/5G call flows (Attach, TAU/RAU, Handover, Session Management).In‑depth knowledge of network protocols: GTP‑C/U, Diameter, Radius, HTTP/2, SIP, SCTP, TCP/UDP/IP.Hands‑on expertise with Ericsson CLI tools (gsh, vshell, epg, pcc).Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Docker).Familiarity with OSS/BSS integration, including NetAct, ENM, ENIQ, and Wireshark for packet analysis.Nice‑to‑Have SkillsExperience with CI/CD pipelines and network automation frameworks.Knowledge of cloud‑native 5G architecture and container orchestration.Familiarity with scripting in Perl or advanced Python libraries.Exposure to multi‑vendor environments (Nokia, Huawei).Understanding of security protocols and encryption in telecom networks.Recruitment Pro TipHighlight your hands‑on experience with Ericsson PS Core nodes and automation scripting in your CV.
