Pipelay Engineers

The Pipelay Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing subsea pipeline installation activities for a Marine EPC Project in Qatar. The role involves coordinating pipelay operations (S-lay, J-lay, reel-lay) while ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, safety standards, and project schedules.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and review pipelay procedures (installation analysis, layback calculations, stress analysis).Coordinate with vessel crew, survey team, and offshore construction team for seamless operations.Ensure compliance with DNV, API, ASME, and client specifications for pipeline installation.Offshore SupervisionOversee pipelay vessel operations (e.g., tensioners, abandonment & recovery (A&R), stinger adjustments).Monitor pipe welding, field joint coating, and subsea touchdown monitoring.Troubleshoot technical issues related to pipelay equipment (tensioners, aligners, lay spread).Work with surveyors to ensure accurate pipeline positioning (ultra-short baseline (USBL), DGPS).Review as-laid pipeline survey reports and ensure compliance with route alignment.Safety & Quality AssuranceEnforce HSE policies (IMCA, Qatari regulations) during offshore operations.Conduct risk assessments (JSA) and ensure adherence to pipeline integrity standards.Qualifications & ExperienceEducation: Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Civil, Offshore, or Marine Engineering.Certifications:Subsea pipelay training (Orcaflex, OFFPIPE, or similar).Offshore safety certifications (BOSIET, HUET, CA-EBS).Experience:5+ years in offshore pipelay operations (S-lay/J-lay/reel-lay).Familiarity with pipelay vessels (e.g., Allseas, Saipem, TechnipFMC).#J-18808-Ljbffr
