Postdoctoral Researcher – 2D Materials & Optoelectronic Devices

OverviewWe are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of two-dimensional (2D) materials and van der Waals heterostructures for next-generation infrared and terahertz optoelectronic devices. The successful candidate will work on the UAEU Strategic Research project focused on engineering bandgap-tunable 2D heterostructures for MWIR, LWIR and THz photodetection.ResponsibilitiesFabrication of vdWs heterostructures (mechanical exfoliation, deterministic stacking, CVD)Optical and electrical characterization (Raman, PL, FTIR, THz-TDS)Device fabrication and performance evaluationDFT and multiscale modeling supportSupervision of PhD and MSc studentsPublication of results in high-impact journalsMinimum QualificationsPhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related fieldProven experience in 2D materials and nanofabricationExperience with optical spectroscopy and semiconductor device characterizationStrong publication record in Q1 journalsExcellent scientific writing skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience in IR/THz photodetectorsExperience with cleanroom processingKnowledge of DFT simulationsExperience with nanophotonic integrationApplication MaterialsCV including research experience and publicationsCover letterContact information of at least two refereesPortfolio or samples of recent workClosing Date30/04/2026#J-18808-Ljbffr
