Product Development Lead

This role is pivotal in bringing olfactory concepts to life, ensuring every scent meets the highest standards of artistry, quality, and consumer delight.ResponsibilitiesAs the Private label Product Development Lead, you will oversee the full fragrance lifecycle, from initial concept and olfactory design to market-ready luxury products. You will:Lead the development of new perfumes, from initial concept sketches to finished olfactory compositions.Collaborate with perfumers, flavorists, and suppliers to create unique, high-quality scents that stand out in the market.Identify emerging fragrance trends, consumer preferences, and innovative ingredients to inspire signature collections.Explore innovative fragrance formats (e.g., sprays, oils, candles, body mists) and unique delivery systems.Oversee fragrance formulation, blending, and stability testing to ensure the final product reflects the intended scent profile.Manage prototyping and sampling processes with suppliers to fine-tune notes, longevity, sillage, and performance.Ensure all formulations comply with international fragrance safety and regulatory guidelines.Conduct fragrance-focused market research to understand emerging trends, unmet consumer needs, and competitive landscapes.Analyze consumer feedback from focus groups, online reviews, and surveys to refine scent concepts and packaging experiences.Track global perfume innovations and niche trends to ensure the brand stays ahead in creativity and desirability.Oversee olfactory evaluation, dermatological testing, stability, and performance assessments for all fragrance products.Ensure quality assurance standards are met, including scent consistency, packaging integrity, and product safety.Maintain detailed documentation of formulations, testing protocols, and regulatory compliance for international markets.Champion eco-conscious fragrance development, from responsibly sourced raw materials to sustainable packaging solutions.Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to adopt greener technologies and materials without compromising scent quality.Continuously propose fragrance improvements or new iterations based on consumer insights, market innovations, and sustainability goals.Lead cross-functional teams, including marketing, design, and supply chain, to ensure smooth product development and successful launches.Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring perfume launches are on time and within budget.Address product challenges proactively, maintaining brand reputation and consumer satisfaction.What You Bring to the TableBachelor’s degree in chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or related field.8+ years of experience in product development or R&D, ideally in beauty, fashion, or lifestyle sectors.Proven success managing the full product lifecycle from concept to commercialization.Strong command of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Deep expertise in formulation, prototyping, testing, and commercialization processes.Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and quality control standards.Ability to translate market research and consumer insights into innovative product solutions.Knowledge of sustainable product development practices and eco-conscious materials.Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives.Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder communication abilities.Exceptional documentation discipline, regulatory awareness, and problem-solving skills.Why Boutiqaat?At Boutiqaat, you won’t just join a company you’ll join a movement redefining e-commerce beauty and lifestyle retail.
