Senior Design Manager

OverviewAECOM is seeking a Senior Design Manager (SDM) to join our Design Management team for a project in Abu Dhabi. This role demands advanced technical expertise, strategic oversight and the ability to coordinate with diverse stakeholders. The successful candidate will ensure that design solutions reflect institutional identity, cultural values and operational requirements, working across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver integrated and high-quality outcomes.ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee the development of functional, cultural and branding requirements, ensuring alignment with clients’ vision and institutional goals.Manage the integration and delivery of FF&E packages from design to procurement and installation.Support the overall design strategy and execution, ensuring alignment with client briefs, technical standards and regulatory frameworks.Provide comprehensive support to the Design Manager (DM) for all design related matters, including reporting and design reviews received from consultants.Exercise discretion and independence in managing workflows, setting priorities and resolving design challenges.Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver cohesive solutions.Maintain clear and professional communication with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors and client representatives to ensure the accurate dissemination of project information.Ensure deliverables meet quality standards, regulatory compliance and client expectations.Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes, standards and delivery efficiency.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in architecture (Master’s degree preferred).15 years of experience in design management or project management roles, including leadership on complex institutional or defence-sector projects.Demonstrated experience in FF&E coordination and integration of branding elements into Defence projects.Strong knowledge of UAE regulatory frameworks and authorities requirements.Experience in government, defence or military projects with focus on user experience, functionality and branding.Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.Additional InformationAbout AECOMAECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
