Job Description
The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Sales is responsible for leading and growing the institutional sales franchise across equities and fixed income products, serving local, regional, and global institutional clients. The role has full accountability for revenue growth, client acquisition, and relationship management while ensuring exceptional service delivery across all customer channels, including institutional, corporate, HNWI, and retail segments, as well as call center and customer service operations. The SVP of Sales will develop and execute the sales and customer service strategy, strengthen market presence, and build long term strategic relationships with key stakeholders. The role works closely with Trading, Research, and Market Making teams to deliver tailored solutions, support liquidity provisioning initiatives, and position the firm's value proposition effectively to clients and prospects. Key Responsibilities Sales Strategy & Business Growth Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with market conditions, regulatory requirements, client segments, and organizational objectives. Drive revenue growth by proactively identifying client needs and expanding wallet share across existing and new institutional relationships. Build, manage, and maintain a robust sales pipeline aligned with agreed targets, forecasts, and performance objectives. Identify and pursue new market opportunities while strengthening presence in existing markets. Consolidate, review, and approve sales targets prepared by the sales team and reconcile them against top down business objectives. Work with the CEO and senior management to establish realistic yet challenging sales and growth targets. Client Coverage & Relationship Management Develop and maintain senior level relationships with CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, and other key decision makers across the institutional investor community. Market liquidity provisioning and market making services, clearly articulating the value proposition to prospective and existing clients. Partner with Trading and Research teams to develop new marketing themes, product positioning, and client solutions. Organize and host investor roadshows, client events, and meetings to promote products and services. Travel as required to meet regional and international clients and strengthen business relationships. Resolve client complaints in a timely, professional, and effective manner. Customer Service & Delivery Channels Oversee and monitor all customer service delivery channels, including institutional, corporate, HNWI, retail, call center, and customer service help desk functions. Develop and implement a customer service strategy in collaboration with department heads. Monitor customer satisfaction across stakeholder groups and initiate improvements to enhance service quality and retention. Review market research and customer insights to ensure service delivery channels remain effective and competitive. Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales organization, fostering a high performance and client centric culture. Oversee recruitment, performance management, and development of sales staff. Establish performance based incentive structures aligned with business objectives. Ensure adequate controls, resources, and governance are in place to manage volumes and maintain service standards. Ensure compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and internal policies, including AML, CTF, sanctions, data protection, fraud control, whistleblowing, and conflict of interest policies. Act in accordance with delegated authorities and ensure appropriate delegation and oversight across the team. Support operational risk management frameworks including RCSA, KRIs, incident reporting, and remediation. Perform responsibilities in line with the Three Lines of Defence model. Ensure positive and fair client outcomes in accordance with conduct risk standards. Support internal and external audit requirements and ensure timely resolution of audit findings. Maintain information security standards and actively support ISO 27001 requirements. Reporting & Performance Management Monitor KPIs, best practices, and performance metrics across sales and customer service functions. Distribute regular sales and performance reports to senior management and relevant stakeholders. Operate within approved departmental budgets, promoting cost efficiency and productivity. Maintain a strong understanding of the firm's financial and non financial performance drivers. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, preferably within a highly rated international financial institution. At least 8 years of experience leading a sales team within financial services, including 5 years in a brokerage or capital markets environment.
