SR. SYSTEMS ENGINEER (GEOSCN & RSRV SOL)

OverviewThe ideal candidate should have a profound understanding of the upstream and downstream sectors in the Oil & Gas industry, with a focus in Subsurface Geoscience & Reservoir, software applications, and industry standards. They must also possess strong vendor management capabilities. As the system owner, the selected candidate will be responsible for managing the related applications, systems and platforms.A crucial aspect of the role involves overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from requirements conversion and solutioning to contract management, procurement, design, system implementation, delivery, and ongoing support. The primary focus will be ensuring continuous availability and business continuity of deployed IT solutions & services through regular maintenance, effective incident management, security & vulnerability management, and proactive risk assessments, thus ensuring elevated levels of maintenance and end-user satisfaction within the organization.ResponsibilitiesOversee the full project lifecycle for IT solutions related to oil & gas applications and platforms, including requirements conversion, solutioning, design, implementation, delivery, and ongoing support.Act as the system owner for related applications, systems and platforms, ensuring high availability and business continuity.Manage maintenance activities, incident management, security and vulnerability management, and proactive risk assessments to sustain service quality and user satisfaction.Lead vendor management, procurement processes, and contract management to deliver IT solutions on time and within budget.Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across multicultural and multinational environments.QualificationsBachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Petroleum or equivalent.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is preferred.Technical certifications in areas such as Cloud, enterprise architecture, ITIL, etc. are advantageous.Educational & Experience RequirementsMinimum 9 years of progressive and directly related experience.Proven experience in supporting subsurface applications & systems.Experience in Geoscience/Reservoir Engineering software suites such as DecisionSpace, Petrel, Interactive Petrophysics, Echelon, Intersect, etc.Experience in managing HPC clusters, job schedulers, and parallel filesystems.Experience delivering multiple high-value ICT projects through contracts and/or internal resources, on time and within budget (e.g., Geoscience/Reservoir Modeling, HPC, OSDU platform).Domain knowledge in Subsurface, particularly Geoscience & Reservoir is a plus.Ability to analyze business needs and advise on the best digital solution/software.Experience with RFP/RFQ development, tendering, vendor negotiations, and contracts management for ICT projects.Excellent problem solving, persuasive, negotiation, and analytical skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey concepts to customers, contractors, and staff.Demonstrated ability to manage and communicate with a multi-cultural and multi-national workforce.Keep abreast of current technology trends through research and ongoing interaction with local, regional and international software providers and other Energy Companies to ensure that the application software used remains current and in line with international trends.#J-18808-Ljbffr
