UAEN Only - VP, Operational Emissions

The Vice President, Operational Emissions will lead the strategy, measurement, and reduction of Scope 1,2 and Scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across the bank’s global operations, including real estate, data centers, and other facilities. This role ensures compliance with evolving environmental regulations, drives operational decarbonization, and supports the bank’s net-zero commitments. The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills to deliver impactful sustainability outcomes.Responsibilities1. Emissions Strategy & Program DevelopmentDevelop and implement a global strategy for measuring, managing, and reducing Scope 1,2 and Scope 3 emissions (excluding financed emissions).Identify opportunities for emissions reduction through energy efficiency, renewable energy procurement, fleet optimization, and waste reduction.Translate net-zero commitments into actionable operational plans.2. GHG Accounting & ReportingLead data collection, validation, and analysis for operational emissions in line with the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard.Oversee Scope 1,2 and 3 emissions calculations and assurance processes.Prepare operational emissions reports for senior management and internal stakeholders3. Project Management & ImplementationDrive emissions reduction projects in collaboration with Building Admin, CPD, IT, and other relevant stakeholders.Manage vendors and consultants for relevant initiatives.Track project performance and report progress against targets.4. Compliance & Best PracticesStay updated on global and regional environmental regulations and emerging best practices.Ensure compliance with relevant legal requirements and internal standards.Recommend innovative technologies and approaches for continuous improvement.5. Stakeholder EngagementCollaborate with cross-functional teams to embed emissions considerations into operations.Engage regional teams for local implementation of global initiatives.Represent the bank in industry forums on operational decarbonization.6. Procurement & Green ITSupport procurement strategies for renewable energy (e.g., PPAs, RECs) and sustainable building practices.Co‑ordinate with CPD to operationalize the sustainable procurement policyPromote Green IT initiatives and integrate sustainability into technology operations.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or related field.Experience: 7+ years in environmental management, energy efficiency, GHG accounting, or operational sustainability.Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of GHG Protocol for Scope 1,2 and 3 emission accounting.Experience in energy efficiency programs, renewable energy procurement, and green building standards.Familiarity with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of global reporting frameworks and climate regulations.Skills: Project management, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and strong communication.#J-18808-Ljbffr
